Tennis in Bangkok is booming. More people are picking up a racket, more courts are opening, and more tournaments are being organized across the city. But finding a game — a real, competitive game against someone at your level — is still harder than it should be.

That's why we built CourtRival.

## What CourtRival Does

CourtRival is a platform for tennis players in Bangkok and Southeast Asia. Here's what you can do:

**Find courts.** We list every court we know about — from covered hard courts in Watthana to outdoor facilities in Bang Kapi. Filter by indoor/outdoor, surface type, and district to find exactly what you need.

**Find opponents.** The core of CourtRival is matchmaking. Tell us your level, your preferred locations, and when you're free — we'll connect you with players who are a real match for you.

**Compete.** We surface local tournaments, leagues, and social tennis events so you never miss a chance to compete.

## Why Bangkok?

Bangkok has one of the most active tennis scenes in Southeast Asia, but it's fragmented. Players post in LINE groups, courts are listed on random Facebook pages, and finding someone to hit with means asking around through friends of friends.

We're building the infrastructure that the Bangkok tennis community deserves.

Bangkok's weather is one of the biggest challenges for tennis players. The rainy season runs from May to October, afternoon thunderstorms can cut sessions short at any time of year, and the midday heat in summer makes outdoor play nearly impossible.

Covered and indoor courts are the answer — and Bangkok has more of them than you might think.

### Crystal Tennis Center — Lat Phrao
ITF-recognized surfaces with both covered and outdoor options. A standard choice for higher-level competitive play in Bangkok.

### FBT Pyramid Tennis Academy — Lat Krabang
A large facility with 14 courts — roughly half covered. One of the best options in the east of the city for both outdoor and covered play, with a strong tournament history.

## Tips for Playing in Bangkok's Heat and Rain

**Book early morning or evening.** Even on outdoor courts, 6–8am and after 5pm are manageable year-round. Midday in April is brutal regardless of surface.

**Check the forecast.** Bangkok rain is usually short and intense. A 30-minute delay is often all it takes for conditions to clear on outdoor courts.

**Use a covered court for serious training.** If you're training consistently or prepping for a tournament, booking a covered court removes the weather variable completely.

**Know your court's drainage.** Some outdoor courts in Bangkok drain slowly — a morning of heavy rain can leave them unplayable until mid-afternoon even after the rain stops.

Finding a consistent tennis partner in Bangkok is harder than it should be. The city has hundreds of courts and thousands of players, but no central place to connect. Most people end up posting in Facebook groups and hoping for the best.

**Global Tennis Network** lists 232+ tennis players in Bangkok with NTRP ratings. You can search by level and area. The platform is functional but not Bangkok-specific — the community is thin and response rates vary.

**TennisCall** and **tennis-tournaments.com** operate similarly — register, browse profiles, request a match. Useful if you're visiting Bangkok and need a partner quickly.

## Tips for Finding the Right Partner

**Be specific about your level.** NTRP or UTR rating, or a self-description ("consistent 3.5, can sustain rallies, working on net play") saves a lot of wasted sessions.

**Specify what you want.** Casual hitting, competitive match, doubles — these attract different players.

**Try your local court first.** Regulars at your nearest court are the most convenient long-term partners. Show up at the same time each week and you'll recognize the same faces quickly.
